Our daughter turned 2!

Julia's Birthday Party

For Julia's birthday this year, we decided to keep it simple and invite just family.  My parents were able to come which was super special!  Ethan's brother & family were able to come.  We missed Ethan's Mom who was/still is in Florida caring for her father.

It was really fun this year preparing her for the big day.  I kept telling her about how we were going to decorate the house, make cupcakes, sing "Happy Birthday," blow out her candle, etc.  So, when the day came and she saw all the decorations she was so excited.  :)  It was really fun to see the difference between this year and last.  Wow!  She sure has grown up so fast.

One of our nicknames for Julia is "chickadee."  So, I thought it would be fun to have a "chick" theme and "Chick-fil-A" for dinner.  :)  I found some cute pink & yellow chick themed party supplies online but I made a few decorations myself to try and save some money (and I love being crafty anyway - now that I'm not a teacher I have fewer outlets for creativity).

It was a nice evening.  Julia was comfortable with everyone being here and had such a fun time, especially with her cousin, Ava.

My mom and I made the cupcakes together.

When the cupcakes came out, Julia got kinda quiet and was just sucking her thumb

She liked the frosting!

This picture cracks me up - it looks like Caleb wanted a bite of her cupcake!

She got this guitar from her Aunt/Uncle/Cousins.  It was a big hit.  :)

Our 2 Year Old
Julia had her 2 year check-up and here are her stats:

Height: 35 inches (79th percentile)
Head: 19 inches (70th percentile)
Weight: 25 pounds (27th percentile)

Here are some recent pictures of our 2 year old.

She still loves the swing!  This was her first time on a "big kid" swing and she did great!

She's getting more brave and going down the slide...

She loves "driving."
