One Month Old

Look who's one month old!  (Notice the "1" on the block next to his head.  I plan to take a picture like this every month - an idea I got from my good friend, Angie.)

**************************************

Our little guy is one month old already...  We are enjoying him so much.  We are noticing that he is able to focus on our faces a little more now.  He loves being held.  We call him "insta-stop" because if he is crying and we pick him up, he stops crying instantly!  He has very strong legs and when we do tummy time with him, we'll find him already pushing himself up on the blanket.  We love all the groans and grunts he makes - very manly.  :)  He is growing super fast (or atleast faster than Julia did at his age).  Here are his latest stats:

Weight: 10 lbs 5 oz (he has gained almost 3 lbs since birth - 2 lbs and 14 oz to be exact)
Length:  22 3/4 inches (he has grown 2 3/4 inches since birth)
Head: 15 1/4 inches (his head has grown 1 1/2 inches since birth)

This is a cute video of Caleb waking up (I love the stretches!  Too bad he didn't do any grunts like he usually does...).  You can hear Julia in the background making a kissing sound (she loves giving him kisses!).  Also, she keeps saying "Baby Signing?" because she loves watching the "Baby Signing Time" Video.

Adorable outfit my friend Mandy sent me

This was his Sunday outfit for our first day back to church.

Caleb loves it when daddy holds him this way...  He gets all limp and totally comfy with his arms and legs dangling.

Julia, Caleb, and I visited my friend Angie and her 3 kids the other day.  Angie was brave enough to let the kids paint.  Those of you who know Julia (and how she doesn't like to get dirty!) know that this is a big step for Julia.  She actually got totally messy and loved it.  :)  At first, Angie gave Julia some q-tips to paint with.  But it wasn't long before Julia started dipping her fingers in the paint and then using her whole hand to paint.  She was having fun and getting so dirty.  Yay!

Since finger/hand painting went so well at Angie's, I pulled out the paint again at my house and she had so much fun.  Yay for Julia being willing to get "messy."  :)

Just recently I started putting Julia's hair up in pigtails and I think it makes her look so grown up.  She calls it "Pig-in-tails."

So cute! I'm so excited for you and your growing family. The way Ethan holds Caleb is exactly how my dad used to hold me and my sister as babies :) Apparently we would suck on his finger while we were at it ;)

I think he looks like a "Layton" in the 2nd pic down (under the video). Love the pic of Ethan holding Caleb in his relaxed position. Ethan looks like, "yep, I'm an experienced dad! I got this down." :-)
So fun about Julia being able to enjoy messy painting now.
Sweet pics!
