Hume Lake with my family

In Mid-August, we went to Hume Lake where we joined up with my parents and my brother's family.  We shared a cabin with my parents and my brother's family shared a cabin with Jaime's parents.  We were there for a whole week!  It was such a perfect vacation because the cabin had plenty of rooms so that Caleb & Julia could share a room, Ethan & I had our our room, and my parents had their own room.  The kids actually slept really well (which is not usually the case on vacation!) so that was a huge blessing. There were so many fun activities for our kids to do including swimming, walking around the lake, climbing rocks, fishing, etc.  Julia loved hanging out with her cousins.  I wish my parents and cousins lived closer so they could hang out more often...

My crazy boy!  :)

It's funny how I brought toys for the kiddos but they found other things to play with such as this connect four game.  It kept them intertained for awhile (and was a good lesson on taking turns/sharing!  Hah!)

Love my brother's family!  (Jaime, Matteus, Georgia, Annalee, Ella, Phil, and Adam).  This was taken after church on Sunday.

The cousins

Julia's first boad ride...  She was super brave.  She was happy to get in the boat but we could tell she was nervous because the whole time she was SUPER compliant and kept saying, "I love you Mommy.  I love you Daddy."  :)

Her cousins were in a bigger boat and at one point we found a big rock where the kids got out and climbed up.  Her cousins were so sweet and took good care of Julia.

On the way back to camp, her cousins asked if Julia could ride in the boat with them.  Julia was all smiles.  :)

The others

On one of the mornings, there was a pancake breakfast.  The food was good and the view was amazing!

Something rare... Julia snuggling.  Sweet moment.

There was this really tall swing and tree house outside our cabin.  Julia loved it!

One night we had a BBQ at my brother's cabin.  The kids had fun playing.

Griffith Park

Near the end of July, we went to Griffith Park with 2 families from our Bible Study.  It was such a fun day, especially for Julia.  She got to ride a pony for the first time and spend time with Vilo & Dawn's 4 girls (one of which is about her age).

I wasn't sure what Julia would think about riding on a horse because she's pretty cautious in new situations.  But as you can tell, she was all smiles.  She loved it!  :)

Julia and Autumn rode on the ponies that walk around in a cirle.

First Haircuts

Shortly after Caleb's first birthday, I decided it was time for him to get his first haircut.  His hair was so cute because it was a little bit curly on the ends.  But it was just way too long.  So, both my kids ended up getting their first haircuts together!

Before

Caleb was super serious the whole time...  But he was still and did a great job!

Julia really enjoyed the whole experience and sat so still while the lady cut her hair.

The lady did a cute little side braid and put a clip in her hair.

Caleb's 1st Birthday Party

So, it's November... and I'm finally posting pictures of Caleb's birthday party.  :)  I guess being pregnant has taken a toll on me.  It is a lot of work to keep up this blog, so I've been mostly posting pictures on Facebook instead.  But, I would like to do a little bit of catch up so that I don't forget the special moments my family has.

For Caleb's first birthday, Ethan's mom, sister-in-law, and her 3 kids came.  Ethan grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and we had other side dishes.  I ordered a cake.  It was a simple bday party and lots of fun.  It was so cute to see how excited Julia was about the party...  She is old enough to understand and was really excited as I started decorating the house.

For his birthday I did a lion theme.  Here's the picture I put on his invitation.  So cute!

Caleb was funny about the cake.  He didn't know quite what to do and looked at it for awhile.  Then he started eating the icing.  Eventually I broke it up into little pieces and he ate some of the cake.

I LOVE THIS GUY!

Julia enjoyed the cake.  :)

The balloons were a big hit with both my children...
