San Francisco, Again!

Ethan and I love travelling together.  It just seems like life slows down when we're on vacation together.

At school, I had a 4-day weekend (President's weekend).  So, we took advantage of it by flying to San Francisco for the weekend.  San Francisco is one of our favorite places to go for a quick getaway. We can find super deals on Southwest Airlines. Also, Ethan goes on Priceline.com and gets a great deal on hotels. Ethan loves doing research and finding great places to eat. We practically "eat our way" through San Francisco. :)

Another great thing we love about going on vacation is having t.v.  We don't have cable at home, so when we stay in a hotel room we love just enjoying some relaxing time in front of the t.v.  We usually watch several episodes of C.S.I. Miami.  :)  It's the simple pleasures we enjoy...

I just love spending time with my husband.  We always come back so refreshed...

The first day we got there, we went to "Fiddler on the Roof" at The Golden Gate Theatre.

Every Saturday, they have a Farmer's Market at Ferry Plaza so we thought we would check it out.  It was such a fun experience checking out all the food booths.  The weather was absolutely beautiful that day too.

Of course, we couldn't resist taking a trip to Ghiradelli Square for an ice cream sundae.  They melt their own chocolate for the fudge on the sundae.  Yum!!!

Riding a cable car is always a fun thing to do in San Francisco...

Ethan found out about this restaurant called "Mama's."  Evidently, you have to get there before the door opens at 8:00 because a long line forms.  We got there around 7:30 and sure enough, there was already a line!  When they opened the door we were seated with the first round of people.  It was well worth the wait.  The breakfast was delicious.

On Valentine's Day, we went to see a movie.  We saw "When in Rome."  It was a funny movie.  Afterward, we got a burger from a resaurant that overlooks Union Square.  They gave us a seat next to the window and the view was amazing!  This picture was take from our seat.

Angie's Baby

Today, I had no school because of the holiday, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  It was nice to sleep in.  Then, at around 10:00 I went over to Angie's house.  I haven't seen her since before her second daughter, Lauren was born.  Lauren was born on January 2, Ethan's birthday.  :)

It was so great to spend time with Angie.  Here are some pictures of her cute baby.

Ebay

Many of you know that one of Ethan's hobbies is to sell items on Ebay.  One of his friends has a very large collection of DVDs.  In the past, he has asked Ethan to sell some DVDs for him and Ethan gets part of the profit.  Well, just recently, our friend gave Ethan 479 DVDs! As Ethan was sorting the DVDs in alphabetical order, I couldn't help myself from snapping a picture.  You can see that this is going to be a big undertaking!  This will be the most DVDs he has sold at one time.

Seeing Johanna's Baby

After work one day, I drove over to Abner and Johanna's house.  It was my first time to see their new baby, Naomi.  She was born on December 23.  It was fun to see Johanna's mom too - the last time I saw her was at their wedding several years ago...  Nehemiah was cracking me up because when I got there he started putting on a show for us.

I got to hold Naomi which was so fun.  She was so cute.  Here are a few pictures of my time with them.

Ethan's Birthday - January 2

For Ethan's birthday, we slept in.  Then, I made him a nice breakfast.  In the afternoon, we went to his mom's house.  She made a nice lunch for us.  Afterward, we ate a cake.  Then, Ethan and I went and played blacklight indoor miniature golf.  It was a nice, relaxing day.

Ethan's Birthday Surprise

Ethan and I love to hand out with our friends, Michael and Caroline.  I thought it would be fun to surprise Ethan by going to their house since we haven't hung out with them in awhile.  After many texts back and forth with Caroline (I'm so glad Ethan didn't ask me who I was texting!), Caroline and I figured out the details of our evening.  We were to show up at their place at 6:00.

So, I told Ethan I had a place I wanted to go for dinner.  We needed to leave at 5:30 to get there.  When he got to the car, I told him I wanted to drive and that he had to close his eyes.

The whole time, he kept trying to figure out where we were on the freeway.  I managed to throw him off at one point by changing lanes several times.  When we pulled up to their house, I allowed him to open up his eyes and he was surprised to see where we were!  It was fun.

We let the birthday boy decide our dinner plans.  He chose to order Papa Johns.  We enjoyed eating dinner with them and chatting for hours.  It was so nice to spend time with them.

Caroline was so sweet.  She decorated the house with banners and balloons.

Caroline also bought an ice cream cake.  Notice how young Ethan is - only 30 (+7).

New Year's Eve

Our friends, Cameron and Joanna, invited us over to their place for New Year's Eve.  We were so blessed by their hospitality as they just had a baby about 2 weeks ago!  We had a wonderful time with them.  They have 3 kids.  We had fun playing with their oldest two, Vijay and Vineetha.  I also enjoyed holding little Tirzah.  She is soooooo small!

When Ethan picked up Vineetha, she was doing this funny thing with her finger - Joanna said it was her being shy.  :)  She was cracking us up all night.
